Levenson McDavid Architects
Levenson McDavid Architects (LMA) is a full service architectural firm located in New York City. LMA asked us to redesign their brand look, create marketing collateral and revamp their existing website. We began by replacing LMA’s previous Flash site which had been created in-house and had become difficult for the firm to manage and update. We built a new site from the ground up that has a cleaner look, faster Actionscript and a more intuitive interface.
Organizing the Portfolio
As clients, architects are generally very exacting and LMA
was no exception. The firm creates precise design work and they needed
a portfolio interface that communicated their approach and showcased
their various clients. We reorganized their portfolio into thematic
categories that allow users to browse through their work by overall
field and by location.
After working together for over 6 years, we are now on our third iteration of lmarchitect.com and each version of the site has gotten easier and easier for LMA’s staff to manage on their own. The latest version uses an XML driven Flash component embedded in an XHTML template. This allows for easy in-house updating of text and images and has dramatically improved their site’s search engine ranking.
