Our Services

Building a successful website begins with developing a message and finding a clear way to communicate it. It’s easy to create a site that shows off an organization’s services or unique brand strategy but this is rarely enough to make a site interesting or engaging. To truly connect with people, a website needs to instill a sense of confidence that can’t be achieved through design alone.

Sway Design is a design shop first but we offer our clients much more than intelligent interfaces or effective logos. Most of our clients come to us to help them move beyond their existing websites that have languished for years with unclear text, poor images and most importantly, a lack of focus on educating their users and customers. In the last six years of redesigning portfolio sites, educational software and online community tools we’ve learned that a website needs to accomplish three things to be successful:

It must consistently provide a sense of quality.
Good graphic design is clear, simple and direct. When it’s truly doing its job it lets a site’s content shine through in the same way a stage heightens the performance of a great singer or actor. A successful website design achieves this by being consistent. From buttons to typography to images, every page element is carefully thought through and speaks to the audience with a consistent voice.

It must clearly distinguish itself from others.
Your company or organization is unique. You offer something that others don’t or you offer services or learning opportunities in a way that’s new or specialized. Your website is an opportunity to express your uniqueness and differentiate yourselves from others online. Even if it’s as simple as telling your story online for the first time, your site should stand out, represent your values and show why your audience should listen to what you have to say.

It must be relevant and easily accessible to its audience.
Clients often come to us and say “We want to explain X and Y and Z about all of the great things we have to offer.” The first question we always ask is, “Great, who’s your audience?” We start all of our web projects with this very basic question. This “User Oriented” approach helps us define your site’s goals and narrow its technical scope so we can focus on making sure your message gets across clearly and effectively.
